Award season continues and we've got some exciting results from this year's Great Taste Awards to share!
Known as the ‘Oscars of the food world’ the Great Taste Awards are the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme… and are the ones to win!
You may of noticed the distinctive round stickers on our cheeses, with gold stars from previous years. The stars are a highly respected seal of approval and winners proudly display them on their products as a sign of quality and taste.
A panel of over 500 experts, from chefs and buyers, to food writers and retailers meticulously work their way through thousands of entries, awarding 1, 2 or 3-stars if and where appropriate.

We were thrilled to be awarded 2 stars for our much-loved Buffalo Blue, but also one star for our NEW Organic Yorkshire Blue too!

These fantastic results come hot on the heels of our triumphant 2023 Great Taste Awards, which saw our Mrs Bell's Blue awarded three-stars, a first for us here at Shepherds Purse as less than 2% of the thousands of entries are awarded the prestigious three-stars! (you can read all about that HERE)
And this year's judges said…
Buffalo Blue
“Buffalo Blue cuts beautifully…Very creamy, with a delicious freshness, melting in the mouth and a very long length of balanced flavour. Delicious! This is a very beautiful cheese, with delicate veining throughout. The cheese crumbles as you cut it but is actually creamy.
The flavours are delicate, mellow and well rounded - especially from the centre, with a perfect salt level. It is an extremely well-executed cheese.
Organic Yorkshire Blue
"A pleasing creamy texture that melts on the tongue. We enjoyed the rich creaminess and the streaks of blue through the outer layers of the curd."
Northern Blue
"This is a very well presented cheese with enticing, even veining. Unctuous and creamy in texture, it releases an excellent flavour profile, rich with lactate notes, and well-judged salt.
"Smooth and mellow, working in harmony with the milk to give a very tasty, well-balanced cheese which keeps you wanting more!"
Bluemin White
"The appearance of this wonderful cheese was enticing. Creamy with a long umami finish which was delightful and subtle. The mouthfeel was clever, with melting creaminess and a gentle texture from the rind.
"This cheese has beautiful mould markings and a slightly open curd, with a visible chalky core. Aromas of hay, cream and dairy are found on the nose, and the creaminess prevails on the palate to give a long-lasting but delicate impression."
