Rishi Sunak MP visits Shepherds Purse HQ to celebrate 35th anniversary
We were delighted to welcome the former British Prime Minister and our new constituency MP for Richmond and Northallerton, Rishi Sunak, to the farm last week.
Mr Sunak came to meet the team, hear about our 35th anniversary celebrations, and of course taste some fantastic cheese!
After meeting and chatting with colleagues from across the company, the family business leaders, Caroline and Katie updated him on the recent launch of our new Organic Yorkshire Blue, our award-winning summer and discussed our future focus and growth plans.
After taking a peek inside the Dairy to see our skilled team at work and learning about the care and attention that goes into making each cheese, he tried his hand at the skilled task of cheese wrapping, following a masterclass with one of our team.
He then joined Caroline and Katie in the boardroom where they discussed the opportunities around technology, sustainability, agricultural and artisanal cheese making. Mr Sunak learnt about the history of Shepherds Purse and what makes our cheese so unique, before tasting some of our most popular varieties including Mrs Bell’s Salad Cheese, Harrogate Blue and our now major award-winning, Organic Yorkshire Blue.
