#Farm24 - It all starts with our farmers

We’re proudly supporting #Farm24 this week, an important campaign to celebrate and shine a light on the industry.

We’re proudly supporting #Farm24 this week, an important campaign organised by the Farmers Guardian to celebrate and shine a light on the industry and those hard working and dedicated farmers who work within it. Watch out for all the content from UK farms on Thursday 8th August 2024!

The campaign is needed as much as ever this year as the challenges the farmers have faced are vast, due in large part to the incessant wet weather through the spring and early summer.

From our own sheep milk that we founded the business with on the farm in the late 1980s, to the buffalo and cows milk that followed, and more recently sourcing organic milk from a local family farm to create our new Organic Yorkshire Blue, the UK’s dairy farmers work with their animals 365 days a year to produce the delicious milk we all enjoy.

Did you know? Nutrient-dense and containing more vitamins and minerals per serving than cow's milk,  sheep milk is rich in calcium, magnesium, zinc, and vitamins A, B2, B12, and D, which are essential for maintaining strong bones, a healthy immune system, and overall wellness. Learn more about the benefits of sheep milk here.

Did you know? We source our buffalo milk from a single herd and produce our Buffalo blue cheese every 4-6 weeks and in small vats. Buffalo milk is not only exquisite in taste but also high in protein and calcium, and is often a good alternative for people with cow's milk intolerances.

Did you know? By sourcing our cows milk locally, as with most small cheesemakers, we’re supporting local farmers who in turn support their local communities too. We're also reducing food miles and working hard to continually improve sustainability in all areas of the production and supply chain.
