We’re excited to introduce our Limited-Edition Oak Smoked Mrs Bell's Salad Cheese to the website this month. 

Our smokey twist on Mrs Bell's Salad Cheese (formerly many other names!), this naturally oak-smoked edition offers a deliciously subtle smokiness that we think you'll love as much as we do. 

Mrs Bell's Salad Cheese itself is hand-made here on the farm using the finest English ewes’ milk. Each cheese is carefully salted and matured for a minimum of two weeks under the watchful eyes of our cheesemakers to perfect its delicate piquant flavour and crumbly texture. Once it's ready, it is sent to be naturally oak-smoked by expert cheese smokers 

This naturally oak-smoked version offers a deliciously subtle smokiness, combining beautiful complex meadowy sweet and creamy texture. The meatiness delivered from the natural, delicate oak smoke is mouth watering.

A versatile and beautiful cheese, it’s ideal for enhancing salads or crumbling onto your favourite pasta dishes.

Did you know - Mrs Bell’s Salad Cheese holds a special place in our story as it was Judy’s very first creation. Made in 1987 and launched as a product in 1989, it has since earned international awards and even featured on Paul Hollywood's BBC One program Pies & Puds.

Originally known by another name, we renamed it Yorkshire Fettle in 2008 when Greece received PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) status for Feta. Then, in 2022, we gave it its current name Mrs Bell’s Salad Cheese in tribute to our remarkable founder.
