Olde York is a soft white cheese made using the coulommier method. After gently layering the curds into the moulds, we leave them to set under their own weight. The resulting delicate texture means Olde York slices easily straight from the fridge. Or if you let it stand a while, it warms to an indulgently creamy spreadability. We wax Olde York to preserve its fresh flavour and texture, and the cheese’s many accolades include being chosen for British Airways' Concorde menu in the 1990s. Olde York, along with Mrs Bell's Salad Cheese was part of our inaugural cheese range from the 1980s, and both remain firm favourites.

A delicious and unusual cheese. Moist and tasty. Shepherd’s Purse always delivers wonderful cheese.

Tasty Round

As before a tasty enough cheese but a trifle too wet / soft compared to the previous batch. Wish it was available in a larger size. Delivery and packaging are faultless and the discount code is very welcome! Thank you

Great in Salads

Ewe's cheese is a real favourite in our family. Delicious in mixed and leaf salads (as an alternative to the usual Greek cheese) and on crackers with crudites.

Fabulous English cheese

This is right up there with the best cheeses England has to offer. Tasty, creamy, super with oatcakes or fruit. I first tried this cheese many years ago when my local Waitrose stocked it. Sadly they discontinued it. Thank you all at SP for giving us some very fine cheeses.
