A favourite of Rick Stein and Raymond Blanc, Mrs Bell's Blue is as creamy as her sister cheese, our Yorkshire Blue, but distinct in appearance via its whiter coloured body, contrasting beautifully with the blue/green veins.

Mrs Bell's Blue is made from the finest quality sheep milk. We produce in small vats and after the first 24 hours of turning and formation, we hand salt each cheese. Each batch is then matured for a minimum of 10 weeks. This achieves the complex blue flavour that’s comparable to Roquefort but creamier and mellower.

Mrs Bell's Blue launched in 1995 and made an immediate mark by winning two gold medals and Reserve Supreme Champion at the prestigious Nantwich International Cheese Show. It is our most awarded cheese on the international stage having won more than 75 top awards over the years!

In the Round

Old Yorke was one of the four cheeses I ordered. All the cheeses arrived as scheduled and the packaging was not only excellent but well above the expected standard as were all the cheeses. a Soft and tangy cheese with a delicate texture that slices easily without crumbling. The round is an ideal size to fit onto a cheese board or a picnic basket. Can a larger size please be offered? Moreish for sure!

Mrs Bell's Blue is a delicious cheese that is ideal for lunch and after dinner - creamy and full of flavour. I don't recall enjoying such a very blue cheese!
Plain crackers are a must as a foil as is a mixed leaf salad if enjoying for a midday snack. The flavour marries well with fruit such as grapes and pears.
